Tailored Treatment Options

Personalised Treatment

Every patient’s circumstances are different. Dr McCann works with you to identify the underlying causes of dependency and to design a treatment plan that reflects your personal goals. His approach is evidence-based, combining psychiatric expertise with proven therapeutic strategies to help you regain balance and build lasting resilience.

Insurance and Fees

Dr McCann is recognised by most major private medical insurers, including Bupa, AXA Health, AVIVA, Allianz, WPA, and Vitality. If your insurer is not listed, we recommend contacting them directly to confirm your level of cover for outpatient psychiatry. Many providers will reimburse some or all of the treatment costs.

Appointments are available for adults and young people aged 16 and above.

Initial Assessment

The first step is a detailed assessment with Dr McCann. This session explores the challenges you are facing and forms the basis of a personalised treatment plan. The assessment also allows time to discuss your expectations and to agree on the most appropriate next steps.

Specialist Psychiatric Support

Dr McCann provides comprehensive care for both substance use disorders and behavioural compulsions, addressing the psychological and physical aspects of recovery. His services include:

  • Psychiatric Assessment & Diagnosis – a thorough evaluation to clarify the nature and severity of the problem, as well as any co-existing conditions.
  • Individual Therapy – one-to-one sessions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), to challenge unhelpful thought patterns and build healthier coping mechanisms.

Dr McCann also offers support during your treatment to provide safe, effective, and personalised care for individuals facing the challenges of dependency. Treatment includes:

  • Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) – where appropriate, medication may be prescribed as part of a structured plan to reduce cravings, manage withdrawal, or stabilise mood.
  • Dual-Diagnosis Care – integrated treatment for those facing both dependency and mental health concerns, such as depression, anxiety, or PTSD.
